If you thought racing movies were dumb

This is a word of mouth warning. Do not let your aversion to NASCAR (or stupid Southerners [which doesn't mean that all Southerners are stupid] deter you from seeing Talladega Nights.

This movie is freakin' funny. Bust your gut funny. Sure, there is less funny when they have to shove the plot along, but they put in a few gems, including the entire "diamond in an ice storm" scene.

These Ferrell/Apatow/McKay collaborations have the added bonus of women saying some really funny stuff, as opposed to being just background in every scene. I point to Christina Applegate in Anchorman, and Molly Shannon is delightful in TN:tBoRB (we call him TN for short).

So, please, give this movie your time and money. It will be worth it. You have my Guarantee*.

And while I have you here, if you haven't seen Anchorman, or didn't enjoy it the first time, see it again. It gets better. You don't truly enjoy the movie until you see the mayonnaise.

*Sorry, Tennessee. Guarantee void there.**

**Guarantee also void in 49 other states, all U.S. territories, Canada, U.K., and if you speak English.

I mostly agree with you .. it was certainly funnier than I expected, but in the middle, when it was just Ferrell doing his "rehab," it just dragged for me ... The beginning and were great, though, and Sasha Baron Cohen was just friggin hilarious
