My new addictions

So, here's a confession to you all. My friend Alex has roped me into watching wrestling regularly for the first time since I went to college. The worst part about it is me reading Wikipedia constantly while watching Raw and Smackdown! (you need the exclamation point) on my Tivo. I missed out on several characters and angles, with my last exposure being the "invasion" of WCW and ECW into the (then) WWF. I guess I would ask you all to pray for my salvation, if I thought that would help.

On a happier note, I've learned how to wake up in the mornings! 5:45 is no longer inconceivable. In order to get myself to wake up before(!) the Sun, I go the the rec center to lift weights. On alternate days, I am trying to start a routine of going to the same location to run on the track. My inspiration for this is the Pookman's recent proclamations on Facebook. We'll see if this holds up.

Harry Potter: finished on Monday morning. I had a wedding to attend, and a reunion to reach before I could sit down and properly devour it.

Me: saying nothing for others' sakes.

An embassy the size of the Vatican?!?

This is mind-boggling. I'm ashamed I missed this. Now I know why we won't leave for a long time. Ugh.

Robots in Disguise

I enjoyed the movie. Some funny stuff, and it was mostly intentional. Shia LeBeouf did a good job at being an awkward teenager, and Megan Fox's character seemed to receive a decent amount of characterization. However, Jon Voight and Josh Duhamel were ridiculous. Yuck. I did enjoy the VERY minor characters being played by people I recognize, like this fellow from "Titus" and Tom Lenk.

Being a geek, I was annoyed that the only returning voice actor was Peter Cullen. I rarely hear Frank Welker doing human voices; it would have been nice to hear him do Megatron again.

So, it's a bit long, but you will laugh and be entertained. See Transformers.
