There, I said it.

IPod's headphones suck. I knew about this for years, because of their utter lack of background noise cancelling abilities, which contribute to ear damage from turning up the volume. I had them on for the last 4.5 hours and I can already feel like my ears have been to a concert.

Also, the ear buds fall out constantly, which was quite annoying while I ran this morning.

I'm only making this observation now because until recently, I was able to use other headphones. No more. I think I shall follow the well-travelled Bluetooth route.

Also, I will write later about yesterday's ripping good footballing contest.

My new addictions

So, here's a confession to you all. My friend Alex has roped me into watching wrestling regularly for the first time since I went to college. The worst part about it is me reading Wikipedia constantly while watching Raw and Smackdown! (you need the exclamation point) on my Tivo. I missed out on several characters and angles, with my last exposure being the "invasion" of WCW and ECW into the (then) WWF. I guess I would ask you all to pray for my salvation, if I thought that would help.

On a happier note, I've learned how to wake up in the mornings! 5:45 is no longer inconceivable. In order to get myself to wake up before(!) the Sun, I go the the rec center to lift weights. On alternate days, I am trying to start a routine of going to the same location to run on the track. My inspiration for this is the Pookman's recent proclamations on Facebook. We'll see if this holds up.

Harry Potter: finished on Monday morning. I had a wedding to attend, and a reunion to reach before I could sit down and properly devour it.

Me: saying nothing for others' sakes.
